The Administration & Finance Committee of the Upper Saucon Township Board of Supervisors will meet on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at 4:00 pm in the Township Municipal Building, 5500 Camp Meeting Road, Center Valley, PA. The purpose of the meeting is to hold preliminary discussions on the proposed 2025 Township Budget.

PUBLIC NOTICE: PENNDOT MEETING TO PRESENT SR309 CENTER VALLEY RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will be presenting plans for the SR 309
Center Valley Reconstruction Project located in Upper Saucon Township, Lehigh County. You are
invited to attend the meeting; it will provide you an opportunity to meet with the project team, view
the displays showing the proposed improvements and to discuss the details. Individuals or groups
with a demonstrated interest within the project limits, surrounding businesses, and local property
owners are encouraged to attend. Representatives from PennDOT and its consulting engineers will
be in attendance to provide specific information on the project and to address questions and
concerns.

PUBLIC NOTICE: AFTON VILLAGE AREA ROAD PAVING

 A contractor for Upper Saucon Township will be performing road maintenance on the following streets during the days listed (weather permitting). Work will be done between 06:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Asphalt Maintenance Systems will be installing a preventative maintenance treatment called Ultra Thin Bonded Wearing Course. This process is a thin paving system which is designed to seal the street as well as provide a new road surface. 

On street parking will not be permitted during the working days. You may drive on the street at all times during the work, however please be careful when driving through the actual work areas.

McIlvane & M.A. Borascius (Owners/Applicants), 1475 Station Avenue, Bethlehem, PA 18015.    The property, identified as Tax Map Parcel 642354791814 1, also known as 1475 Station Avenue, Bethlehem, PA 18015, is .59 acres in size and located in the Rural Residential (R-1) Zone.   The applicants request variances from Section 211.B.12.p to maintain a playset with a five foot (5’) side yard setback (15’ required), Section 211.I (as amended by Ordinance 141-A) to maintain impervious coverage of 26.38% (maximum of 20% permitted), maintain a patio connected to an existing accessory structure with 20’ rear yard setback/8’ side yard setback (35’ and 25’ required) and maintain a shed with a setback of 3’ (15’ required for an accessory structure less than 720 sq ft of area) and Section 703.B to permit  enlargement of dimensional non-conformities.

Comcast/Xfinity Expansion in Upper Saucon

Contractors for Comcast/Xfinity will be installing underground and overhead cabling throughout the Township over the next several months. Work is permitted to be done in the Right of Way along Township roadways. As part of the project, Comcast is required by law to place PA One Calls (811) to have all existing underground utilities marked. As the facility owners (Verizon, PPL, RCN, UGI, etc.) respond they will place small colored flags or spray paint the ground to mark where their utilities are located.  In some cases the underground utilities will be marked from the street to the location where they enter your home. This is to identify all underground utility locations and does not mean that Comcast is “trenching” to your house.

Comcast’s policy is that residents will be notified 7-10 days prior to underground Right-of-Way (ROW) construction activities, dependent on weather conditions. Residents with questions or concerns about underground construction activities can email Freedom_SEO@comcast.com.

Public Notice: Amendment to the 2020 Comprehensive Recreation and Open Space Plan

Notice is hereby provided pursuant to Section 302(b) of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code that the Board of Supervisors of Upper Saucon Township will hold a public hearing on the 10th day of June, 2024, commencing at 6:30 p.m. at the Upper Saucon Township municipal building located at 5500 Camp Meeting Road, Center Valley, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of taking public comment and input concerning the adoption of an Amendment to the 2020 Comprehensive Recreation and Open Space Plan for Upper Saucon Township (hereinafter, “Amended Open Space Plan”).

The Board of Supervisors intends to consider passage of a Resolution accepting and adopting the Amended Open Space Plan at a public meeting to be held on the 10th day of June, 2024, commencing upon conclusion of the above-noted public hearing. Said public meeting shall take place at the Upper Saucon Township municipal building located at 5500 Camp Meeting Road, Center Valley, Pennsylvania.

HYDRANT FLUSHING NOTICE

The Upper Saucon Township Water Department will be flushing fire hydrants between the hours of 5:00 AM and 2:30 PM beginning May 13, 2023, and continuing to May 24, 2023. Flushing may cause some discoloration of water. This does not represent a health hazard. If you do experience discoloration in your, please don’t be alarmed, your water will clear up once it is run for a short time. Should you experience discolored water, we suggest you run the cold water from the faucet nearest to the water meter to flush your house line. The flushing program is necessary to maintain a good water supply for both firefighting and domestic consumption. Kozy Korner Rd Stormwater Sewer Project

The contractor for the Township will be crossing Limeport Pike tomorrow, Thursday, May 2, 2024.

Limeport Pike will be reduced to one lane at Kozy Korner Road (with flaggers) from approximately 8:00am to approximately 4:00pm.
