Upper Saucon Township Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event

Upper Saucon Township will be holding a Household Hazardous Waste Recycling Event on Saturday, November 6, 2021. The event is for Upper Saucon Residents only. Proof of residency is required.

No commercial or business drop-offs will be accepted. Registration is free; however, the number of participants will be limited. Register on-line at

This is a NO CONTACT event, please adhere to the following regulations set forth by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection on the day of the event:

Events may be cancelled based on the status of the pandemic as per state requirements.
Materials must be in the trunk of the car or bed of the truck or SUV. You must stay in your car while in the event site. You may arrive any time within your registered appointment window.
Please print out your ticket if possible (or write your name and appointment time on a piece of paper) and place it on your dashboard.
If you cannot attend the event, please cancel your appointment, as others may be waiting for an opening.




Acceptable materials are: Oil-based paints, solvents, motor oil, antifreeze, fertilizer, pesticides, herbicides, household cleaning products, aerosols, degreasers, etc.

Not acceptable materials are: tires, propane tanks or other gas cylinders, electronics, appliances, medical waste.

Flint Hill Road Closure

Contractors will be replacing a manhole on Flint Hill Road. Flint Hill Road will be closed to all through traffic from 7am to 5 pm on Monday, October 11 and Tuesday, October 12.

Flaggers will be posted at each intersection to assist and direct traffic ,local residents, emergency vehicles ,school buses etc.

Flint Hill Road will be open overnight with restrictions.

Camp Meeting Road Closure

Camp Meeting Road will be closed to all traffic between Route 309 and Preston Lane on Monday, October 11, 2021.

Southern Lehigh Public Library’s Board of Directors

Effective January 1, 2022, there will be two vacancies on the Southern Lehigh Library Board of Directors. The terms for these positions will be January 1, 2022-December 31, 2024.

Chestnut Hill Road is CLOSED

10/04/2021: Chestnut Hill Road is closed between Limeport Pike and W Hopewell Rd. It will re-open later this week.

Paper Shredding Event

Upper Saucon Township has partnered with Representative Milou Mackenzie to host a paper shredding event at Hopewell Park on Saturday, October 2 from 10am to noon.

Chestnut Hill Road Construction

Anrich Inc. which was awarded the Chestnut Hill Road Storm Sewer Project, Phase 2 with Upper Saucon Twp has contracted with Barker & Barker to finish the project with milling and paving. The construction zone is between W Hopewell Road and Limeport Pike and a small section of W Hopewell Road near the intersection with Chestnut Hill Rd.

While the paving crews are working, Chestnut Hill Road will be CLOSED to all thru traffic for at least two full days with partial closures for other days:

Monday, September 27 – Road Open – mobilization work some delays are possible.
Tuesday, September 28 – Road CLOSED 24 hours
Wednesday, September 29 – Road CLOSED 24 hours
Thursday, September 30 – Road CLOSED during the day / OPEN at night
Friday, October 1 – Road CLOSED during the day/ OPEN at night

This schedule is subject to change predicated on weather. 

The work crews will do all that it can to expedite this work to minimize any inconveniences. All local residences will have access to their driveways from one direction or another during work hours. As always, Emergency Services will be given priority if responding to locations within the construction zone.

Taylor Drive Roadwork Begins Monday, Sept 13, 2021

Township crews will be installing a water main extension on Taylor Drive between Kristin Court and Wards Lane. Traffic will be reduced to one lane with flaggers. There will also be times when the road will be closed to all traffic. 

The project will take about 4 weeks to complete.

All local residences will have access to their driveways during work hours. As always, Emergency Services will be given priority if responding to locations within the construction zone.
Please protect our workers and drive slowly through the active work area.
