Environmental Advisory Council

The Council shall advise the Board of Supervisors and any other duly established boards, commissions and committees of the Township on matters dealing with protection, conservation, management, promotion, and use of open space, recreation, historic, and natural resources located within Upper Saucon Township. The Councils’ board members are appointed by the Township’s Board of Supervisors.

The EAC partners with several local organizations such as Lehigh County Conservation District and Penn State Master Gardeners to provide educational seminars through the Backyard Natural Habitat Program (BNH). The mission of these seminars is to help residents “realize environmental awareness and habitat conservation in our own back yards; learning, creating, and experiencing one yard at a time.” These seminars will provide project ideas and resources to residents looking to create habitats that will protect and support wildlife and native species, and enhance property values and the natural landscape of the Township.
