Contractors for PennDOT will begin I78 Roadwork in Upper Saucon Township on Monday, March 25, weather permitting.
The work area impacting UST is between West Rock Road and the 309 South Ramp at West Saucon Valley Road. There will be some limited work on the underside of the overpasses at Vera Cruz Road.
• Lighting updates/upgrades, stormwater management work, median wall replacement and ramp repaving
• Retaining Wall/Sound Wall repairs (mostly Salisbury)
• All within the PennDOT ROW
• Most will be night work from 9pm to 5am with varying lane restrictions as needed
• The first couple months will be cross-pipe installations
• There will be work on the spill containment facility near Olympus
Work will also include the installation of a 4-way stop at the intersection of the 78 E Ramp to W Rock Road and Heckman’s Lane.
