On May 1, 2020 all PennDOT projects were permitted to resume and new projects permitted to begin.
This means the State Route 2024/Blue Church Road Bridge replacement over an unnamed tributary to Saucon Creek in Upper Saucon Township, Lehigh County is starting. The PennDOT contract amount is $524,180.58.
The contractor Fabcor, Inc. of Jessup, Pa. has an approved COVID-19 Safety Plan and is working with PennDOT to coordinate utility relocation work.
On May 6th, 2020 a utility coordination meeting was held (all utilities must be relocated prior to construction). Utility relocation work is linear in fashion so one utility must complete their work before the next one starts.
This utility work and other preliminary work (survey, environmental controls) means there will be minimal physical activity taking place on site for the next one to two months.
The contractor is ready to begin construction as soon as the preliminary work is completed.
Work on this project will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the jobsite, and relevant training.
