Public Hearing _ Acquisition of Open Space

Notice is hereby provided pursuant to Section 6 of Act 442 of 1967, Jan. 19, 1968, P.L. 992, titled, “An Act Authorizing the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the local government units thereof to preserve, acquire or hold land for open space uses,” as amended (the “Act”), 32 P.S. § 5006 et seq., and Upper Saucon Township Resolution No. 2005-38, adopted July 26, 2005, that the Board of Supervisors of Upper Saucon Township will hold a public hearing on the 12th day of August, 2024, commencing at 6:30 p.m. at the Upper Saucon Township municipal building located at 5500 Camp Meeting Road, Center Valley, Pennsylvania 18034, for the purpose of reviewing and making a determination on the desirability of permanently preserving the following properties by acquiring a real property interest in the same for open space benefits:

• 1760 Taylor Drive, Center Valley, PA 18034 (Tax Parcel ID 643439356218-1)
• 5413 Glen Road, Coopersburg, PA 18036 (Tax Parcel ID 641378403125-1)
• 5599 Glen Road, Coopersburg, PA 18036 (Tax Parcel ID 641367366776-1)

The Township intends to purchase an interest in the above properties to ensure they are permanently preserved with the goal of achieving open space benefits pursuant to the Act. At the hearing, the Township will set forth the interests to be acquired in the properties and the anticipated open space benefits to be achieved.

The hearing will be held pursuant to the Local Agency Law, Act 53 of 1978, Apr. 28, 1978, P.L. 202, as amended 2 Pa. C.S. §§ 551-555, 751-754, and the Act. Interested parties will have the right to appear at the hearing and present relevant information, testimony, and evidence concerning whether the Township should acquire a real property interest in the above-listed properties. Copies of documents related to this matter may be examined and/or obtained at the Township municipal building during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
