UPPER SAUCON TOWNSHIP ACT 537 SEWAGE FACILITIES PLAN REVISION TO PROVIDE SEWAGE FACILITIES FOR THE PROPOSED OLD SAUCON SUBDIVISION
NOTICE is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of Upper Saucon Township (“Township”) will meet to consider and act upon a proposed revision to the Township Act 537 Sewage Facilities Plan (“Act 537 Plan”) at a public meeting to be held on June 6, 2011, commencing at 6 p.m. in the Township Municipal Building located at 5500 Camp Meeting Road, Center Valley, Pennsylvania, 18034. If approved, the Plan will be submitted to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, Water Management Program, 2 Public Square, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18711-0790 as required by the Pennsylvania Sewage Facilities Act and related Regulations.
The proposed action, analysis and alternatives are discussed in a Special Study, prepared by the Township’s sewer engineer and titled, “Act 537 Plan Special Study Provide Sewer Service to Old Saucon Subdivision” (“Study”). The Study was performed at the request of the Developer in connection with a land development plan known as “Old Saucon” (“Project”). The Project proposes the construction and use of public sewer facilities.
The Study analyzes two sewage facilities alternatives relating to the provision of public sewer service to the Project including, (a) no action and (b) provide sewer service via Old Bethlehem Pike Pumping Station and the Industrial Park Interceptor. The Study recommends the adoption of alternative (b) to provide public sewer service to the Project.
The Project and planning area are described as follows:
Project Name: Old Saucon.
Type of Project: Village commercial and residential (age qualified community).
Project Location: East side of Route 378 at or near the intersection with Center Valley Parkway.
Estimated Project Costs: All costs to be paid by Developer.
Funding: All costs to be paid by Developer.
User Charges: There will be no changes to the current Township user fee.
Anti-degradation Classification of Receiving Body of Water: Not applicable.
A copy of the Study is available for inspection at the Township Municipal Building located at 5500 Camp Meeting Road, Center Valley, PA 18034. All interested persons are invited to inspect the Study and submit written comments for a period of thirty (30) days, commencing on Tuesday, May 3, 2011, and continuing through and including Wednesday, June 1, 2011. Written comments should be directed to the attention of the Township Manager, Upper Saucon Township, 5500 Camp Meeting Road, Center Valley, PA 18034. Telephone inquiries may be made by calling the Township Manager’s office at (610) 282-1171. Copies of written comments and any written responses thereto will be submitted to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection with the Study, if approved by the Board of Supervisors.
A formal presentation of the Study will be made at the Regular Meeting of the Township Board of Supervisors on May 16, 2011, at 6 p.m. at the Township Building located at 5500 Camp Meeting Road, Center Valley, PA.

r. Appointment of Alternate Sewage Enforcement Officials
Motion to appoint Ronald Gawlik, Jeffrey Matyus, Jeffrey Young, Ted Bigatel and Anthony Tallarida of The Pidcock Company as alternate sewage enforcement officials to act on behalf of Upper Saucon Township for administration and enforcement of the Pennsylvania Sewage Facilities Act, in accordance with the Section 7(b) of the Act.
