Emergency Notification System

Upper Saucon Township has employed the use of an emergency notification system to keep residents informed of emergency situations that may arise within the Township. Notification scenarios include water, sewer, weather, and other public safety emergencies. You do not need to be an Upper Saucon Township Water or Sewer customer to enroll.

Public Notice: Sustainable Community Park Presentation to Board of Supervisors, Comment Period

Upper Saucon Township has prepared draft master site development plans for two proposed sustainable nature parks on Township-owned properties located at 7486 Passer Road (former Haring Tract) and 5653 Old Bethlehem Pike and 3361 Preston Lane (former Benckini Tract).  The draft plans for these parks focus on a passive, nature-oriented recreation experience.

The draft plans are available for public inspection at the Upper Saucon Township Municipal Building and on the Township’s web site.  Written comments on the draft plans will be accepted until Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 4:00 pm, and Comments will also be accepted verbally at the regularly scheduled meeting of the Upper Saucon Township Board of Supervisors to be held on Monday, September 11, 2017 at 6:30 pm at the Township Municipal Building. 

Public Notice: Ordinance 141-O, hearing on Monday, Sept. 11.

The Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on the 11th day of September, 2017,  for the purpose of taking public comment and input concerning the adoption of an amendment to the Upper Saucon Township Zoning Ordinance. Proposed Ordinance 141-O will amend the Official Zoning Map to change the zoning designation of a certain tract of land from Suburban Residential (R-2) to Commercial (C). The land to be re-zoned is an approximate 7,333 s/f portion of the land of Donald Bassler, known as 6581 N. Main St. Coopersburg, PA, PIN 642441595838.

Trick or Treat Activities

The Upper Saucon Township Board of Supervisors have set the date for the 2017 Halloween Trick or Treat activities. This year’s date will be on Friday, October 27, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The rain date will be the following night, Saturday, October 28.

Spotted Lanternfly Information

There have been some local sightings of the Spotted Lanternfly. Here are some tips if you see this invasive pest.     

Notice of Public Comment Period and Public Meeting For NPDES Stormwater Discharge Pollutant Reduction Plan

Upper Saucon Township is hereby giving notice of the 30-day public comment period for its National Pollutant Discharge Elimination (NPDES) Stormwater Discharges from Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4) Pollutant Reduction Plan (PRP).

Upper Saucon Township is situated in the southeastern corner of Lehigh County approximately 60 miles north of Philadelphia and 80 miles east of Harrisburg. Upper Saucon has been a bedroom community for the Lehigh Valley region including the cities of Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton.
