DEP Finds Record Radon Level in Upper Saucon Home, Encourages All Pennsylvania Residents to Test for This Radioactive Gas

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has detected a new record-high level of radon and is once again encouraging state residents to test their homes for this radioactive gas, a leading cause of lung cancer.

Pest Alert: Spotted Lanternfly

Upper Saucon Township has been approached by the Pa Dept. of Agriculture to make the public aware of this highly-invasive pest. The Spotted Lanternfly has the ability to devastate orchard crops and grapes.

About Upper Saucon Township

Upper Saucon Township is situated in the southeastern corner of Lehigh County approximately 60 miles north of Philadelphia and 80 miles east of Harrisburg. Upper Saucon has been a bedroom community for the Lehigh Valley region including the cities of Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton. The rolling hills and farmland that characterize the Township and its convenient location with easy access to PA Route 309, Interstate 78 and US Route 22 have made Upper Saucon a very attractive place to live for those wanting both a somewhat rural atmosphere but also access to metropolitan amenities.
